Closed-door engineers vs. open-door engineers
I was reading something about open door vs. closed door engineers.
The essay was positing that while the closed door engineers will accomplish more in the short-term, the open door engineers will end up doing more that is valuable.
This is because the closed door engineers will always tend to be working on not quite the right thing.
They won't be getting the minor inputs that allow them to make something truly valuable.
Food for thought.
